Do not wait for the last possible moment to prepare for anything.
· Spread your preparation for Thanksgiving and Christmas out from September through November. Add needed food items to your grocery list. Make decisions early about where and when your family will celebrate. We will be celebrating Christmas on November 27th while Summer and the boys are visiting.
· Begin to prepare to do the next year’s taxes at the beginning of that year. In January set up files for each tax category and add your receipts and other supporting documents to the files as they come in.
· Prepare for company before they arrive. Make sure you keep the ingredients for your favorite company meal on hand for unexpected guest. Keep the items you use for overnight guests together in a basket so even if you do not have a guest room you can get ready quickly.
· Let it be your goal to have your home within 15 to 30 minutes of company ready.
