Roast Turkey and StuffingMy hope is you will have a day of blessings with family and friends remembering this is a day to express gratitude to the One who created and sustains us for His many blessings. I pray that you will remember that this is a day to create good memories and not continue disputes. This is a day to forgive and be forgiven. Remember, forgiveness is a gift from God both through us and to us. No matter what the other person has done, is doing or will do, it is placing that person in God’s gracious hands. God knows the heart of each of us and cannot be deceived. He is able to work out even the worst of situations to the best for those who place themselves in His hands. What the enemy means for evil, He can transform. We have been given grace by God. Let us extend grace to the people He has placed us among. Let us see ourselves more as sinners, than sinned against. Let us express love liberally, and opinions graciously. Serve each other today with gratitude and love and, again, have a wonderfilled Thanksgiving.

Turkey Tips

A couple of simple points

  • Read all the directions that came with your turkey
  • The turkey should be cooked to a temperature of 180 degrees measure with a meat thermometer in the thigh, not touching bones.
  • The turkey should be allowed to rest (sit) out of the oven for at least 15 minutes  before carving.
  • To keep the breast meat  from drying out 2/3 of the way through cooking place a tent of aluminum foil over the top of the turkey–not sealed.
