Getting Out the Door

In a few minutes I am headed to the kitchen to make some tea sandwiches for a tea this am at church. We have to be there at 7:30 and it’s about a 15 minute drive.

  • I began working on this post last night knowing I would only have a couple of minutes in the morning.
  • I have already showered, dressed, and put on a touch of makeup.
  • I have had Quiet Time, less than I would have liked, but a few minutes of prayer and Bible Study.
  • I have to take tea service for 8 and have already set the dishes and napkins out.
  • I am about to make my food contribution that involves a little baking.
  • While my goodies are in the oven I will wrap my china and pack it to go to church.
  • I will then run upstairs, check my hair and makeup, change my shoes and slacks and am ready to head out the door.
  • My home will be in good general order, so I will not be coming home to a mess or leaving my sweet husband in a mess.

The main point is knowing what I have to get done. I have a plan for the order things need to be done in to get me out the door on time.

I have wiggle room along the way so I will not be in a panic or frantic.

  • Plan your work. Work your plan.
  • Allow enough time to arrive on time and with peace of mind.

IMG_0351Walking Through Ephesians: Ephesians 6: 10– Even the Boss Has the Same BOSS

What instructions are given to masters (bosses)?

Masters (bosses), treat your (employees) slaves in the same way.
• Don’t threaten them;

What are bosses to remember?

• remember, you both have the same Master in heaven,

  • ·         and he has no favorites.(v. 9)

My comments:
• Employers are to treat employees in the same way. This means employers are to treat employees with respect.
• They are not to ask employees to do anything they know is not the will of God.
• An employer is not to threaten their employees. It is legitimate to have clearly communicated standards and policies with clearly stated penalties. Those standards and policies should be enforced with justice and mercy, asking the Lord what is appropriate in each situation. Ask God for wisdom and He will give you wisdom. (James 1:5).
• The employer is not to feel that they are superior to their employees—“you both have the same Master in heaven, and He has no favorites.”
• The employer is also to recognize that he is working for the Lord and is not to do anything in his business that is contrary to the will of God.
• Whatever gifts and talents we have are a gift of God. I am grateful for the gifts and talents I have and I appreciate the God-given gifts and talents of the people around me.

Another single verse from God’s Word that really packs a punch.
