Walk in God’s Love

We are still at the hospital and will be for several days. If I seem to be less reliable and more distracted than usual it is because I am responding to whatever is happening here. Roy has diverticulitis and there is a small perforation in his small intestine. They are filling him full of antibiotics and the poor man can’t have anything to eat. I am staying close by his side to take care of whatever needs to be taken care of—plumping pillows, lowering and raising the head of his bed, requesting ice chips (he can’t have anything to eat or drink).  Some friends came by yesterday and the husband stayed with Roy while his wife and I ran home to pick up a few things. When Roy and I left to go to the Emergency Room, I had grabbed my notebook and a couple of books I was reading—I know there’s often a lot of down time while you are waiting at a hospital. My best friend, Joe, brought me a sandwich, bottled water, and some healthy snacks, and later a salad for dinner so I am eating smart. Roy wanted his own pajama bottoms, toiletries and his computer. I covet prayers for Roy and our family.

This Week

This week our Area of Focus is the Dining Room, Entry, and Front Porch. Because February is 28 days, there are no days to give special attention to your bathroom. How about today? If you are keeping up with your bathroom on a daily and weekly basis, it won’t be hard to give it a little extra TLC until the end of March with 3 days of special attention.

Walking Through Philippians: Philippians: 1:27-30 Life Worthy of the Gospel

IMG_0371How are we to live?

  • 27Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

  • Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm
    •  in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel
    • 28without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you.

What does not being frightened by those who oppose you mean to them?

  • This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God.

What do our struggles mean?

  • 29For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him,
  • 30since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.
