I am officially an old lady
I am a great-grandmother—Yes, my one of my grandsons has children
I am on Social Security
I am 67 years old.
I do not delude myself that I look years and years younger than I am but people tell me all the time that I look great. In the next few weeks I want to share how you can age gracefully. There are strategies that will help you stay youthful.
Before I get into specific strategies on the physical side, let’s focus on what makes all the difference—our spiritual state. You can be gorgeous and invest tons of money on what you put on your hair, skin, teeth, and body but if you are bitter, unforgiving, unloving, and living life apart from the Lord, it will show on your face and in the way you interact with people—that will be totally unlovely.
If you there are people you cannot forgive; if you are bitter about what has happened to you; if you find it hard to love others, including your enemies—it is time to spend time with the Lord dealing with these issues. A tender and surrendered spirit will shine on the outside.
The best thing you can put on your face is a smile.
Control is an illusion.
Having your own way is highly overrated. One thing I love about the Lord is that He can work things out so you don’t have lose for me to win. He can work things well for all people who are devoted to Him.
Modesty and purity are beautiful. The goal of a godly woman is not hotness.
Tomorrow—my kids’ intervention.
